The Role of Parents in Raising Children

by - April 15, 2020

Raising children is the most important job you have ever had:

Raising children is the most difficult task you have ever had, albeit easier if there is agreement on how to do it.
It's not too late to talk about what's important to you both as parents and develop some guidelines to help you grow for years to come.

Try to avoid arguing or getting angry in front of your child or letting them play around with you. If you disagree, explain why and tell them how to compromise.

As long as they know they are loved and cared for, and you keep them safe there are very few rights and disadvantages of raising children. However, there are some important things to keep in mind:

she is the best example of their lives.
children need consistency, means and boundaries
children are human - one child's work may not work for other children.
Children need limits and decisions.

Kids need rules and restrictions to help them feel safe. It also helps them understand that parents make many decisions that affect them and the reasons why. As they grow older, children have more to say about what is happening in their lives.

Even when they are young, children benefit from making certain decisions, because they learn by making right and wrong choices. If you continue to rescue the children from their choices, they learn nothing (except when the mother and father touch it softly). Sometimes breaking the boundaries you set is a great way for children to rebel and assert their independence in a safe way - they are better off testing boundaries at home than in the wider community.

Kids need you to say what you say:
If you make useless threats that you do not intend to make children soon learn that you do not trust your voice. "If you don't fix your room, you won't come with us on vacation." Does that mean - what are you going to do with them? If you say you will give your baby a month, you will have a horrible month - it would be better to put it on the weekend and do family things together, rather than going back after two painful weeks.

Talk to your children:
The more you talk about things big and small with kids every day from an early age, the more likely they are to talk to you about their concerns as they get older (including the bigger things that worry you). Talking about family, school and around the world is a way to build trust, to show interest and to show that they are loved.

Start talking habits early, before the difficult teenage years begin.

Children need to know that you are interested in them and want to spend time with them
Being interested means spending time playing Lebo, wearing dolls, cricket balls, playing board games, baking a cake, reading a school magazine, listening to a detailed account of how a game or dance class goes, learning how technology works or listening to their current favorite song - you often have fun, learn a lot, and it helps you keep young and connected to them.

It is important that you know who their teacher is, who their friends are, their interests and be careful when they behave differently. If you know your child well you will see that they are upset, worried or happy and know how to support him.

To be honest:
If your baby wants something you can't afford for their birthday, it's better to say than build their hopes and disappointments on the day. Children also need honest answers about life and death, sex, parental mistakes and world affairs. Keep your answer years correct and apologize if you made a mistake. They would rather learn things from you from an unfavorable website or playground.

Be fair:
Children are very picky about what they consider to be bad, so try to be balanced. If one child gets more parental time, it also brings rewards.Child rearing is one of the greatest responsibilities a parent will ever make in life. It is very difficult for a society like our ever-changing world with all the forces of darkness that appear to be beyond our control.

Urbanization has brought many negative effects on children. We can think of TV and its immoral programming, pornography, such as magazines and movies, the use of alcohol and illicit drugs, spiritism and its bad effects among others.

What training should we give our children to help them succeed in overcoming such a corrupt and evil system?

Children are a gift from God. When we are fortunate to find them, we should show appreciation by raising them to the art of godly living. Parenting should start at home. It is here that the foundations of a successful life can be laid and built upon.

When a person's child's foundations are strong, he or she will be able to live up to their commitment and contribute to the development of their community and the nation and humanity at large. If his human foundations are weak, he can be a liability to himself, family, community and the nation.

Unconditional love:
Children have the right to an unlimited love of their parents. A child should not be deprived of parental love because it is not born normal, is considered to be ugly, and has bad habits or anything. The doors of love may approach him from the outside but he must find love, peace and joy when he returns home.

The child may engage in unacceptable behavior, but this should not be used on him; no parent should withhold the love on the basis of their children's misconception.

Discipline:

Discipline is an important tool for success. Being commanded to live by God's standards. Not only must we live by the standards of our society. We all make mistakes. When young ones make mistakes, we should lovingly correct them. They need to know that when they follow God's standards, they are promoting good health. Avoidations such as causing physical or mental harm to children while punishing them should be avoided. Child abuse in all its forms is condemnable.

Respect:
Parents should respect their children. They are as unique as their parents. We should not set boundaries but guide our children to make the right choices in life. Parents must explain the importance of a godly life and encourage their children to meet godly children. We should not make them unnecessarily angry. On the other hand, we should help them to maintain their spiritual balance.

Pray:
Parents have a priestly duty to pray for their children. There is a lot of sin in the world today. Child abuse, filth, rape, drug use, drunkenness, murder, gun violence, lying, stealing, highway robbery etc. Children need to be empowered to instill in them the madness of this world.

Parents provide for the needs of the family:

Parents have a special responsibility to provide for basic needs and to protect their families. She must make sure that children get everything needed for proper physical and emotional development. Children should be encouraged to live a clean and moral life. They should hold such virtues as hard work, honesty, integrity, respect, tolerance, patience, humility, forgiveness, love and the need to live in peace with others. Note that no result can compensate for failure at home.

Conclusion:

Parents should educate and train their children to become responsible adult members of the community who are able to contribute to the development of their community and nation. Their upbringing should help them to live righteously. Their training should equip them with the skills, knowledge and wisdom for a successful career. No agency or outside agency can do this better than home. Parents will work effectively as agents of change if they lead exemplary lives and adhere to gospel standards.
